Hydlar®
Technical Specifications
Hydlar® combines the properties of nylon with the wear resistance of Kevlar® Aramid fiber. The composite material is strong, tough and resists wear—up to 20 times greater than nylon alone. The Kevlar® also eliminates galling of mating surfaces and provides excellent flexural and tensile strength. Hydlar® outperforms metals, glass or other reinforced plastics. The properties of Hydlar® make it ideal for pulleys, bearings, casters, rollers, high-strength wheels, and aerospace and automotive applications.
Grades and Colors
-
Hydlar® Z
Hydlar® Z is a composite of nylon and Kevlar®. It is the basic and most common form of Hydlar® available. Hydlar Z is not FDA, USDA or 3A-Daiary compliant.
-
Hydlar® ZT
Hydlar® ZT contains a small amount of PTFE for increased lubricity, making the product more wear-resistant. (Custom run minimum)
-
Hydlar® ZM
Hydlar® ZM contains a small amount of Molybdenum Disulphide for greater surface hardness, greater lubricity and improved wear-resistance. (Custom run minimum)
Key Properties:
- Outstanding wear resistance
- Virtually no abrasion to counter surfaces
